An
inhabited garden
To explore
Cap-à-L'Aigle Village des Lilas is to experience swells
of different floral fragrances, exuded by a multitude of flowers
thriving in the stone walls of the village.
See, smell,
hear and taste the joy of living intimate moments, in this historical
village that offers a wonderful look, onto the soft yet rustic
panoramas, more beautiful with every passing season.
A unique
presentation -
There are other lilac gardens in the province of Quebec, but they
are part of arboretums or botanical gardens. The village of lilacs
wants to enhance the already existing Cap-à-l'Aigle culture.
Discover the hamlet overlooking the St. Lawrence River and marvel
at the colours and scents offered by its various species of lilacs.
A family
activity -
Garden tourism is a fast-growing activity the world over, and
Quebec is no exception. So as to make the village a place not
to be missed, the village of lilacs' team is setting up parks,
lookouts, and gardens that will highlight the presence of lilacs.
And a garden
- Cap-à-l'Aigle Village des Lilas is also Les Jardins du cap à
l'Aigle. A german horticulturist donated to the Corporation a
collection of 1 000 different varieties of Lilacs. 200 of them
are planted in the garden. Come and participate in the birth of a
large garden whose creation was first undertaken in 2002. The
arrangements available this year are those surrounding the
Duchesne Pavillion, the welcoming garden, the commemorative garden,
the vegetable garden and the grand willow. You are also welcome
to visit the rest of the terrain and enjoy the scenery, that makes
up part of the World Biosphere Reserve.

Lilacs in Bloom
Spring arrives at last. The lilacs, like
everyone else, are waiting for the sunshine and warmth before
showering us with their colors
and their perfumes. Here in Cap-à-l’Aigle we are
expecting the lilacs to be in full bloom for our festival “Le
Temps des Lilas” in mid June. (The festival takes place on the second weekend of june of every year.)
The Gardens of cap à l’Aigle in addition to the collection of
young lilacs, offer to the public several annual and perennial
flower beds.
Many different varieties of lilacs can also be seen growing in
profusion all along Cap à l’Aigle’s main street St-Raphaël
creating a picturesque country scene well worth the visit while
the lilacs are in bloom.
